Tim Swanson - Secretary, Director of Donations

Tim's grandfather served in World War II as a Signalman aboard a U.S. Navy destroyer in the Pacific Theater. Tim has always respected his grandfather’s sacrifice and service during our country’s time of need. As a teacher, Tim recognizes the value of education in people’s lives. Tim said, "When I heard about the Folds of Honor and its mission to provide educational assistance to veterans and their families, I knew I had found something that combined my passion for education with my desire to honor the tremendous work and sacrifice that veterans provide for our nation."

I have been involved with the Folds of Honor Organization for the last few years and this last year I decided to get more involved. This is my #1 charity and I really believe in the Mission that they have taken on. I look forward to the opportunity that has been presented to me. I believe my previous career of 35 years with the Airlines and my current career in Real Estate provide me with many tools that will benefit the Folds of Honor.

Shannon Lin Jacobsen - Director, Tournament Chair

"I became involved with the Colorado Patriots and Folds of Honor 4 years ago. I have a long line of Military Veterans in my family as well as my son is serving in the USMC, stationed at Twenty Nine Palms. I feel this is a perfect way for me to give back to our military and their families by giving the gift of education to the families. I am very proud to be a part of this great organization and hope to be a part for a long time to come."

Suzanne Almquist – Director , Event Coordinator

Suzanne is an Event Planner and Caterer in the Denver Metro Area. She is originally an East Coaster, but calls Parker, CO home, where Suzanne has been for 16 years and is an active member of the community. She was introduced to Folds of Honor in June 2018 at an event held by the Colorado Patriots. After hearing the guest speaker and learning about the mission, Suzanne said, “What can I do to help you guys with your mission?” Since then, the Colorado Patriots have become an official chapter of Folds of Honor and she was elected to the board in January 2019. FOH was a natural match for Suzanne, as she comes from a military family. Her maternal Grandfather served in the Army during War World II, her Father was career Army Special Forces as a Green Beret, her Step-Father served in the Army during the Vietnam War, her Uncle was career Navy, and her nephews…one is career Navy and the other served in the Coast Guard.

Steve Smith - Chairman of the Board, Treasurer

Steve is the son of a combat veteran who served his country in the Korean War. Steve's Father and Mother instilled a sense of patriotism that Steve carries today. His Dad has always been appreciative of when people thanked him for his service. He asked that Steve do the same when he encountered anyone in uniform. "It is a privilege to have provided the inspiration to such a great group of people called the Colorado Patriots", Steve said. "I have seen an idea grow from a thought I had to one that has inspired the team, our sponsors, and supporters of our military families. That has been and will always be my greatest joy from this mission we have undertaken. Thank all for your support. I am honored to be your Wingman".
