Tim Swanson - Secretary, Director of Donations
Tim's grandfather served in World War II as a Signalman aboard a U.S. Navy destroyer in the Pacific Theater. Tim has always respected his grandfather’s sacrifice and service during our country’s time of need. As a teacher, Tim recognizes the value of education in people’s lives. Tim said, "When I heard about the Folds of Honor and its mission to provide educational assistance to veterans and their families, I knew I had found something that combined my passion for education with my desire to honor the tremendous work and sacrifice that veterans provide for our nation."
Steve Smith - Chairman of the Board, Treasurer
Steve is the son of a combat veteran who served his country in the Korean War. Steve's Father and Mother instilled a sense of patriotism that Steve carries today. His Dad has always been appreciative of when people thanked him for his service. He asked that Steve do the same when he encountered anyone in uniform. "It is a privilege to have provided the inspiration to such a great group of people called the Parker Patriots", Steve said. "I have seen an idea grow from a thought I had to one that has inspired the team, our sponsors, and supporters of our military families. That has been and will always be my greatest joy from this mission we have undertaken. Thank all for your support. I am honored to be your Wingman".
Jim Tuson – President, Sr. Advisor on Military Relations and Strategic Growth
Jim is a retired USAF Master Sergeant; serving 20 years from 1980-2000 with multiple overseas tours of duty. Jim joined Parker Patriots as a way to give back to those with whom he served and those who came after. “When Steve and Mary told me about Folds of Honor and how it helps service members, I knew I wanted to be part of the Parker Patriots team,” Jim said. In his post-military career, Jim continues to support the Department of Defense where he advises senior military and government officials on strategies for solving complex technology implementation challenges. “Through my work I established many senior military contacts throughout the Denver and Colorado Springs Front Range area. Working with the Parker Patriots provides me an opportunity to use that knowledge in support of the FoH mission, expand the Parker Patriots connection to the Colorado military community, and actively support my fellow service members and their families.”
Shannon Lin Jacobsen - Board Member, Tournament Chair
"I became involved with the Colorado Patriots and Folds of Honor 4 years ago. I have a long line of Military Veterans in my family as well as my son is serving in the USMC, stationed at Twenty Nine Palms. I feel this is a perfect way for me to give back to our military and their families by giving the gift of education to the families. I am very proud to be a part of this great organization and hope to be a part for a long time to come."
